Birds "fatally poisoned intentionally" as police launch investigation

Police in Newry have have confirmed that two ravens were fatally poisoned intentionally as officers launch an investigation into their deaths. The birds were found dead in a field in the Drumbanagher Wall area of Poyntzpass in December, with tests being carried out on the ravens, which has recently confirmed they had consumed rat poison Chloralose and insecticide Bendiocarb. Police have said that there have been reports of similar incidents in the area.
