The story began in 1984 in Sauk City, Wisconsin, when Craig and Lea Culver opened the first Culver’s. The family had yet to learn that their small business would grow into a well-known name.George Culver worked for Wisconsin Dairies Cooperative for a while. He was born in Wisconsin and is the grandson of a farmer and the son of a cheesemaker.
