EuroHockey Institute Business Club officially opens
The EuroHockey Institute Business Club (EHIBC) was officially opened on Friday, April 7th at the EHL hosted by Pinoké.
The event was opened by Mrs Marijke Fleuren, President of the European Hockey Federation (EHF), to an invited group of 50 attendees.
Tom Pedersen-Smith, the EHF’s Head of National Associations, moderated the opening and gave an in-depth overview of the EuroHockey Institute.
The Institute has been shaped over the last three years through an Erasmus+ programme in conjunction with multiple federations, the University of Copenhagen and Orange Sports Forum and Hockey Magic.
The Institute will look after all of EuroHockey`s development for member national associations across Governance, Coaching, Officiating, Athletes, Innovation, Workforce and Sustainability.
“The EHIBC aims to connect companies from the hockey environment with the wider hockey family of federations, clubs, their members and our athletes,” explained Jokko de Wit, EHF Commercial Manager (pictured).
Announced at the EHL KO16 in 2022, the EHIBC now consists of 12 valued partners and is opening its doors for any company working within hockey in areas like facilities, technology, equipment, development or similar fields.
In addition at the launch, charitable partner of the EHIBC, The Hockey Dreams Foundations Managing Director Merel van Amerongen and founder Gijs Hardeman presented their background and their current projects.
The 12 founding members of the EHIBC are:

- AAA – LUX (LED Lighting for Sports)
- RSI (Facilities)
- EHTV+ (Ecosytem for clubs and content production)
- Bundeling (Community platform)
- Daka (Sport & Lifestyle retailer)
- Johan Cruyff Institute (University for people in sports)
- Orange Sports Forum
- Moooi (Design brand)
- World Sport Pics (Hockey photography)
- Hockey Dreams Foundation (Charitable partner)
The membership costs is €1,500 per year and includes 2 VIP invitations to our top tier events as well as donations to our charitable partners The Hockey Forest and the Hockey Dreams Foundation.
The remainder will be used to support the EHF and the EuroHockey Institute to develop and safeguard the beautiful sport of hockey.
The next big meeting dedicated to members will take place on August 17th at the EuroHockey Championships in Mönchengladbach.
