U10 Boys crowned County Champions

On Sunday 8th March two Saffron Walden boys Under 10 teams took part in the Cambridgeshire County Cup.  The B team did well winning one, drawing one and losing two.  The A team won three and drew one of their pool matches and then faced Cambridge City A in the semi final.  An exciting match was decided by penalty strokes with Saffron Walden earning their place in the final against St. Ives, where they dominated and won 2-0.  The boys scored nine goals in the tournament but did not concede a single goal!  The victorious County Champions were Ben Macdermott, Taegan Chapman, Sebastien Colclough (GK), Daniel Legg, Harry Bird, Christopher Norman, Oliver Paxton, William Stevenson and Thomas Harris-Gee.  The boys will represent Cambs in the Regional Tournament on April 19th in Norfolk.
