Tournament Weekends and 2nd Week of March – Coach Gerhard Schedule Change

THIS WEEKEND, FEBRUARY 21, 2026, IS A HOME TOURNAMENT WEEKEND!
This weekend is our Beginner and Intermediate Tournament Weekend! I’ve forbidden our rated fencers and National and Regional competitors from fencing this weekend, they will be coaching an refereeing our Beginner and Intermediate Fencers!  I’ve talked to several fencers and families about the competition already, you can see who’s already pre-registered here: https://www.askfred.net/tournaments/f7e4c3d0-a398-4a72-b988-52786cb27896/preregistrations

Both Men and Women’s Foil will start at 10AM, location is at the All-American Fencing Academy.  Tournament fees are paid on site: $25.

NEXT WEEKEND, FEBRUARY 28, 2026, IS PISACAFE ELEMENTARY/MIDDLE AND HOMESCHOOL INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM AT GREENSBORO
I’ll start to talk to our fencers this week, but for those that participate in the Elementary and Middle School Events, as well as the Homeschool Individual and Team events.  The next tournament is at Greensboro at Barber Park Simkins Center (1500 Barber Park Dr., Greensboro, NC).  Askfred says it’s the Championships, it is not the Championships yet since the last one was cancelled, the Championships will be at our club.

!!IMPORTANT: COACH GERHARD’S CLASSES ARE CANCELLED MARCH 9-13!!
Coach Gerhard has to be away for work that week.  Coach Gerhard will try to get a substitute for one teen class, but I’ll let you know if I’m able to do so.

Classes affected/cancelled that week:
Tuesday, Youth Foil at 6PM
Tuesday, Teen/Adult Foil at 7PM
Wednesday, Teen/Adult Foil at 6PM
Wednesday, Beginner Class at 7PM
Thursday, Adult Epee at 6:15PM

Coach David and Coach Isaac Lessons and Classes ARE NOT affected.  They will still occur on schedule.

There will also still be open fencing on Thursday, until either Coach David or Coach Isaac have to leave, whoever leaves later.

Final Pisacafe and Homeschool Championships
This event is the day after I return, fortunately, this is at home.  So you we don’t need to pack up equipment before leaving.  But get this on your calendar as well: Saturday, March 14, 2026.
