Congrats to Alexander and Isabella! And Upcoming Events

First off, congrats to Alexander Cantero-Gignac and Isabella Lee!  They both qualified at Apex for USA Fencing’s Summer National Championships!  On Saturday, Alexander competed in the DIV2 Men’s Foil, took a loss in the pools, had a close semi-final round, but finished strong in the finals to take first, qualified for DIV2 and DIV3 Men’s Foil at Summer Nationals, AND earned is D25 rating!

Isabella Lee competed in the Y14 Women’s Foil on Sunday, went undefeated in the pools, seeded 1st in the elimination rounds, but lost in a semi final.  In the 3rd place fence off to qualify, Isabella defeated Soman from Forge Fencing.  Isabella qualified to compete in the Y14 Women’s Foil at Summer Nationals.

Alexander and Isabella qualified through the NC Divisional Qualifying event.  Olivia McKinney, through Regional points, is also qualified to compete in USA Fencing Summer Nationals.

The Homeschool Championship events requires fencers to have competed in at least 2 other homeschool events during the current season.  If you don’t meet that qualification, but you are an elementary or middle school fencer, you may still fence in the Pisacafe Elementary and Middle School circuit.
