Junior Olympic Qualifier Results, Thanksgiving Schedule, and Other Reminders

Congrats to Junior Olympics Qualifier Fencers!
In Junior Men’s Foil, Isaac Canady qualified for the second year in a row for the Junior Olympics in Charlotte in 2025. Unfortunately, he had to knock out teammate Alexander Gignac in the fence off for 3rd place to take the spot, but it was a close bout, Isaac won 15-14 against Alexander.

In Junior Women’s Foil, Lily Kube got 3 good wins in her pools and finished 6th place. She lost in the round of 8, 12-15.

In Cadet Women’s Foil, Isabella Lee only had 1 win in the pools, seeding last after the pools. She had to face the #2 seed in the first round. Isabella upset the #2 seed with a nail biting score of 15-14. She lost in the final 4, missing qualifying for the Junior Olympics by 1 touch. Isabella lost in the final 4, 14-15. Isabella lost in the fence-off for third and place 4th in the tournament.

Thanksgiving Schedule
No classes on Thursday, November 28, 2024!

Coach Gabe’s class and epee fencers are rescheduled for Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 7PM. Open fencing at 7PM.

We may open Friday morning or Saturday morning for open fencing to fence off the turkey! Stay tuned.

Reminder: Annual Christmas Party Potluck!
It’s a chance to meet the other team members from other classes, meet the other families, and lots of food! We hope everyone can make it! It’s a potluck, so bring what you want!
