OS/AH Series: July 2020, 3rd Week Class, and Updates

Let’s do some quick updates…

Current Phase 2 North Carolina restrictions will expire on August 7, 2020. Again, we will plan for a re-open during the week of August 10th. Schedules will remain the same. Be prepared to wear a mask, not just fencers, but for anyone that’s in the fencing room. We will continue to make class videos through August, however.

Something new…
If you’ve been to the fencing club, and either took a lesson or fenced with a face mask before, then you’re familiar with the feeling of the mask restricting your breathing. Coach Gerhard has reviewed and started using “Lipstick Protection 3D Brackets”. They go under the mask and moves the fabric away from the mouth. They work great and makes breathing feel normal. Referee Clinic
Want to join the ranks of Gabe, Sabrina, Bruce, and Marlon? Those are the teens that have taken the referee clinic and passed all three of their weapon referee tests and have earned their preliminary rating as a referee.
