At Home Exercises Part II: Resilience and Put It In Perspective (Audio!)

0 7

In a previous e-mail on On Strip/At Home Series, we talked about Diaphragmatic Breathing. It’s a resilience skill that we can apply to fencing. It can be done in practice, at home, and during competition.

This time, we’re going to introduce another resilience skills called “Put It In Perspective.” But instead of giving you something to read, I decided to do an interview and have the audio available. The resilience skill of “Put It In Perspective” is applicable not just for our athletes and competitors, but for our families as we face these difficult and uncertain times.

To help talk about this skill, our guest is Valerie Alston who is with Sports Psychology/Performance Psychology at the Ready and Resilient Performance Center on Fort Bragg.

We hope you are enjoying our On Strip/At Home Training Series.  We are continuing to work hard and provide you with fencing training outside the fencing room.

There are a few ways you can listen to the audio:

Hope you enjoy!
