2-Week Suspension of Classes at the All-American Fencing Academy

Upon Governor Cooper’s closing of all North Carolina Schools for the next 2 weeks and the announcement from USA Fencing that they will not be sanctioning any local, regional, national, or international events from March 16-April 6, we have decided to suspend our classes and programs for 2 weeks.

Several fencing clubs in North Carolina and around the nation are following the same guidelines and suspending classes for the next two weeks.  We are seeing the same thing locally at several gyms, including, yoga, martial arts, and indoor rock climbing locations.

This is not out of fear, but out of social responsibility.  I have a responsibility for the health and wellness of our fencers and their families.  Our fencers and their families are my family as well.  In turn isolation guidelines will increase the community’s ability of slowing down the spread of COVID-19.

In the meantime, if you remember the homework I gave everyone during their first month of beginner class?  That would be good practice at home.  If you don’t remember, each day practice:-10 advances-10 retreats-10 extensions-10 lungesRemember it isn’t for speed, but make sure your knees stay bent. Good distance with advances and retreats, complete extensions, and holding lunges.

We will resume classes on Sunday, March 29, 2020.  And we will reschedule any missed classes.

Reschedule:

If your regular class is the youth class on Tuesday at 6PM, the following dates are make up days:
-Sunday, March 29, 2020, 10:00AM
-Tuesday, March 31, 2020, 6:00PM (This is a 5th Tuesday in March so it will serve as a make up day.)

If your regular class is the teen and adult class on Tuesday at 7PM, the following dates are make up days:
-Monday, March 30, 2020, 6:00PM
-Tuesday, March 31, 2020, 7:00PM

If your regular class is the teen and adult class on Wednesday at 6:15PM, the following date are make up days:
-Sunday, March 29, 2020, 11:00AM
-Monday, March 30, 2020, 7:00PM

If your regular class is the Beginners Class on Wednesdays at 7PM, the following dates are make up days:
-If the student is between the ages 7-12
-Sunday, March 29, 2020, 10:00AM
-Tuesday, March 31, 2020, 6:00PM

If the student is between the ages 13+
-Monday, March 30, 2020, 6:00PM
-Tuesday, March 31, 2020, 7:00PM
