Momentous things were happening in Morocco. President Macron of France was in Tangiers to inaugurate Africa’s first high speed train. French companies built the € 2.1 billion coastal line to Casablanca and France loaned much of the money. Macron and King Mohammed shared a carriage as far as Rabat, the capital. The 180-mile line begins the modernisation of Morocco’s railway.
