Theatre preview: Blackout to come under Made in Scotland spotlight at Edinburgh Festival Fringe
It all began back in 2013, when Mark Jeary was studying for the one-year masters degree in Classical and Contemporary Text at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Mark was a mature student in his early 40s, with a rich and varied past behind him, ranging from a working-class childhood in south-east London, through an early job as a runner on the London Stock Exchange, to a decision to move to Hull and come out as gay in the early 1990s, and years of working with adults with learning difficulties, while trying his hand as a stand-up comedian.
