Exhibition review: Rip It Up, National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh
Lonnie Donegan and Young Fathers may not have much in common on the surface, but they’re the natural beginning and end points for this impressively comprehensive celebration of Scotland’s diverse musical heritage. The brainchild of BBC DJ Vic Galloway and curator Stephen Allen, the exhibition is the centrepiece of a multimedia package involving concerts, a television series and an accompanying book written by Galloway. It’s a major cultural event.
