Roger Cox: Adventures in the face of adversity offer lessons in how to live well

Roger Chisholm was a remarkable man. Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1977 while studying medicine at Cambridge, he managed to pass his finals even though he was unable to write due to an untimely bout of useless hand syndrome – a symptom of MS which does exactly what it says on the tin. While his classmates scribbled away in the exam hall, Chisholm sat alone in the room next door, recording his answers on a dictaphone.
