Bronte Campbell ‘cobbled together with fencing wire’: coach
April 7, 2018. Simon Cusack, coach of Australian swimmers Cate and Bronte Campbell, speaks outside the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre after Bronte Campbell dead-heated with Canada’s Taylor Ruck for silver in the 50m freestyle. Cusack says Bronte Campbell’s swim was “fantastic” and she’s “been cobbled together with fencing wire basically since late 2015” which is why she’s had two tough years. Cusack says “post this meet, she’ll have time to rehab because we cannot continue like this for another two years” and “for her, it’s about trying to be at her best in 2020 (Tokyo Olympics)".
