Keith Legge: Youth hostels come full circle in digital age
As a Scot brought up in Africa but sent back to boarding school, my first experiences of my homeland were shaped by the Scottish Youth Hostels Association. Thanks to SYHA, I explored the length and breadth of my homeland every Easter holiday. Whether it was ice climbing in Torridon, walking in Glencoe or cycling around Durness, the youth hostels’ affordable and companionable surroundings allowed me unforgettable experiences that shaped me, giving me a lifelong love of Scotland.
