Kentucky Derby-winning connections visit Not For Love

When in Maryland, how can you not visit the "Big Guy"?

Steve and Carolyn Coburn spent an early afternoon during Preakness week visiting Not For Love, the sire of their mare Love the Chase, dam of Kentucky Derby winner California Chrome. Making the trip the morning of May 15 to Chesapeake City, they got up close and personal to Maryland's leading sire. The Coburns and Perry Martin and his family, who make up DAP (Dumb-Ass Partners) Stable, purchased Maryland-bred Love the Chase as a 3-year-old from a partnership they had once been involved. The first foal Coburn and Martin bred is California Chrome.
