Celebrating Excellence Across Alberta’s Equestrian Community

The Alberta Equestrian Federation (AEF) is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Annual Provincial Awards, presented in partnership with Acera Insurance.

Each year, these awards recognize the exceptional individuals, equines, and organizations who make a lasting impact on Alberta’s equestrian community. From inspiring leadership and athletic achievement to outstanding sportsmanship and dedication behind the scenes, the Annual Provincial Awards celebrate those who uphold the highest values of horsemanship, integrity, and equine welfare.

AEF is honoured to recognize this year’s award winners, whose contributions continue to strengthen and inspire equestrian sport and activity across the province.

2025 Annual Provincial Award Recipients

Outstanding Horse – Oakley

Owned by Stephanie Patterson, Oakley has earned recognition as an extraordinary equine partner whose impact reaches far beyond performance. This award celebrates Oakley’s remarkable contributions and the lasting impression made within Alberta’s equestrian community.

Outstanding Instructor/Coach – Sheri Cameron

Sheri Cameron is recognized for her exceptional mentorship, leadership, and dedication as a coach and instructor. Sheri’s commitment to safe, supportive learning environments and her focus on the well-being of both horse and rider make her a true role model in the equestrian industry.

Outstanding Stable/Facility – Ulterra Equestrian

Ulterra Equestrian is honoured for consistently upholding the highest standards of horse care, safety, and facility excellence. Their commitment to creating an environment where horses and riders can thrive reflects the very best of Alberta’s equestrian community.

Outstanding Athlete/Rider – Gabrielle Shank

Gabrielle Shank has been recognized for her ambition, resilience, and dedication as an athlete. Her strong partnership with her horse and her commitment to growth in both practice and competition embody the spirit of equestrian sport.

Sportsmanship Excellence – Tyne Alliban

Tyne Alliban is celebrated for truly exemplifying the values of sportsmanship. With integrity, respect, humility, and an unwavering commitment to fair play and horse welfare, Tyne’s conduct uplifts the sport and those within it.

Above & Beyond Excellence – Doug Orr

Doug Orr is the recipient of the Above & Beyond Excellence Award for his outstanding contributions to Alberta’s equine industry. Doug’s dedication, teamwork, and lasting positive impact reflect the core values of the AEF and inspire others throughout the community.

Celebrate With Us

AEF extends heartfelt congratulations to all 2025 award recipients and sincere appreciation to everyone who nominated a deserving individual, and continues to support and strengthen equestrian sport and activity in Alberta.

These award winners remind us that the equestrian community is built on passion, tradition, and above all, the incredible horses who bring us together.
