This non-provisional patent application is a continuation application and claims priority benefit, with regard to all common subject matter, of commonly assigned U.S. patent application Ser. No. 14/517,368, filed Oct. 17, 2014, and entitled “FORENSIC VIDEO RECORDING WITH PRESENCE DETECTION,” which is now U.S. Pat. No. 9,159,371, issued Oct. 13, 2015, (“the '371 patent”). The '371 patent is a continuation-in-part application and claims priority benefit, with regard to all common subject matter, of commonly assigned U.S. patent application Ser.
