Provincial Champ Maryore joins Joseph Ible stable

Provincial Championship winner Maryore has joined the Joe Ible stable.

Formerly trained by Phillip Courtney, Maryore spelled in Queensland and is now settling into Ible’s Canberra yard.

Ible says Maryore thrived during her break in the break

“It’s a vote of confidence in the stable to get a horse of her quality,” Ible said.

“She had a long autumn and winter campaign and it’s our intention to give her just a couple of runs later in the spring — with race for fillies and mares in Melbourne a possible target.

“She prefers softer tracks so is more suited in autumn and winter.”

The Ible stable has now grown to 18 horses in work without sacrificing quality.

Last season the up-and-coming trainer recorded a more than respectable 21% strike rate with his gallopers and kicked off the new season with a Bella Amante’s dominant Acton win.

Ible had earlier altered site readers to the potential of the now 4YO Pins mare and she was heavily-backed and far too good for the Maidens first-up.

“She’s a talented horse with a big future,” Ible said.

“She’s still needs maturing, but Jay Ford came down to ride and believes she’s a Saturday city-performer in the making.”

Ible said Bella Amante will have five weeks in the paddock and will have two runs next campaign possibly culminating in a Highway Handicap.

Ible said he has a Tavistock filly — Jamberoo Valley — who is showing plenty of promise and she will jump out shortly.

“We’ll give her a couple of education runs over summer but being by Tavistock will need time to develop.”
