Overseas stint for Loy
Jockey Brodie Loy will have to improve on his French with the jockey locked in to ride for a month in New Caledonia. Brodie has 8 rides in Canberra on Friday and will depart in the days following to work under the guidance of New Calledonia trainer M. Boufenchenadir.
“I’m treating it like a working holiday” Loy said. “I will still ride trackwork as well, so even though I will be riding less I should still keep my weight down and keep fit, but I am definitely looking forward to the warmer weather and a bit of R&R”.
Brodie has a full card for the races on Friday, and is booked to ride Major Sharpe for Joseph Ible. The partnership scored a win in Canberra last start and Joseph says he couldn’t be better. “He has improved from his last win and if all things go well I will look for a mid-week race next start”.
