WATCH: Anushka Sharma stunned by Glenn Phillips’ jaw-dropping diving catch to dismiss Virat Kohli
New Delhi: Along with the crowd, Virat Kohli’s wife Anushka Sharma was also left in shock after Glenn Phillips pulled off an incredible catch to dismiss Kohli during India’s final group-stage match against New Zealand in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy on Sunday.
The actress was at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium when Kiwi bowler Matt Henry delivered a slightly short ball wide of the off-stump. Kohli attempted to cut it towards the gap, but Phillips, known for his sharp fielding, swiftly ended his stay at the crease with a stunning catch.

The match held special importance for the 36-year-old, marking his 300th ODI appearance, and there were high hopes for him to build on his previous performances and score another big knock. Kohli had recently reached his 51st century in ODIs during India’s previous game against Pakistan at the same venue.
Phillips has been one of the standout fielders of the tournament, having taken a similar stunning catch in their match against Pakistan to dismiss captain Mohammad Rizwan on Saturday (February 19).
India was put in to bat first and found themselves in a challenging situation. Early breakthroughs from Matt Henry and a wicket from Kyle Jamieson left the Indian team in a tight spot, losing their top-order quickly. In terms of team changes, India has made one adjustment, bringing in mystery spinner Varun Chakaravarthy to replace Harshit Rana.
New Zealand has often been a tough opponent for India in ICC tournaments, and the team led by Rohit Sharma will be eager to secure a victory to move into the knockout rounds without any worries. A win would not only help India top their group but also set up a semi-final showdown against Australia.
Both teams have been the standout performers in the competition, and the upcoming encounter will serve as an important challenge for India ahead of the elimination rounds. For now, India will be hoping that the middle-order batsmen can stabilize the innings and set a total that will be defendable.
