Dodgers’ Justin Turner Makes Diving Tag To Hold Braves In NLCS Game 7

0 11

The Atlanta Braves had a great chance to add insurance runs in Game 7 of the National League Championship Series.

But they got into quite the pickle and squandered that opportunity.

Batting in the top of the fourth inning, Ozzie Albies walked and stole second, and the Braves got a second runner on when Dansby Swanson walked.

Austin Riley’s RBI single brought Ablies home to give Atlanta its lead back, and both Swanson and Riley advanced into scoring position after a wild pitch thrown by reliever Blake Treinen.

Then, things got even wilder.

After Nick Markakis grounded out to second, Los Angeles caught Swanson in a pickle between third and home. Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner made a diving tag to get him out, and his team continued to carry out the unusual play to end the inning.

Check it out below:

The Dodgers’ play provided some serious damage control, as the Braves got out of the inning with just a 3-1 lead.

It could have been much, much worse.
