[Swimming & Diving] More qualifying times established in win over Lincoln College

In just their second event of the season, the Bees posted several more national qualifying times in a dual victory over Lincoln College.

Leading the way was Rais Hassim, who qualified in a pair of events. He won the 100-yard freestyle in a national-qualifying time of 47.71 seconds. Hassim also earned a spot at nationals in the 200-yard individual medley with his first-place time of 1:55.45.

Victor Del Rio Foces bettered the qualifying standard in the 100-yard backstroke, touching first in 54.41 seconds.

Petter Kolaas was the third Bee to earn a spot at nationals with his second-place time of 59.83 seconds in the 100-yard breaststoke. Teammate Kevin Krupitzer, who qualified for nationals in SAU's season-opening dual against Augustana last Friday, won the event in 56.92 seconds.

Kolaas added a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle swim in 1:50.40. The St. Ambrose men, who defeated Lincoln 172-26, also got first-place efforts from Ryan Warrick in the 50-yard freestyle (22.01 seconds), Isaac Garcia in the 1650-yard freestyle (17:30.55) and Caleb Gaylor in the 100-yard butterfly (53.43 seconds).

The 400-yard medley relay team of Gabe Carlson, Krupitzer, Hassim and Kolaas won in 3:33.61 and the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Del Rio Foces, Warrick, Reece Powell and Gaylor won in 3:16.32.

The Bee women were also dominant, defeating Lincoln 180-44 behind eight individual first-place finishes.

Molly Sullivan and Delaney Janosek each won two swimming events. Sullivan claimed the 200-yard individual medley in 2:19.78 and the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:10.59, while Janosek won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:09.28 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:53.17.

Andrea Adam once again won the 1-meter (244.0) and 3-meter (179.25) diving events. Teammate Taylor Madison took second in both dives.

Emily Hartman won the 1650-yard freestyle in a time of 17:50.60 and Catie Schimmelpfenning claimed the 100-yard butterfly in 1:03.46.

Dani Crum, Sullivan, Bethany Anderson and Schimmelpfenning won the 400-yard medley relay in 4:17.63. Kelly Baughman, Hartman, Janosek and Anderson teamed to take the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:55.56.

The Bees will next compete in a dual against Illinois Tech next Saturday in Chicago.
