Senior Shannon McEachern was one of two Bees named to the 2019 Google Cloud NAIA Academic All-District At-Large Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). She was joined on the team by Andrea Adam, from the SAU women's swimming & diving team.

The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Nominees must be starters or important reserves, sophomores or older, with at least 3.30 cumulative grade point averages. The at-large team includes student-athletes from the following sports: women's beach volleyball, women's bowling, women's crew/rowing, men's and women's fencing, women's field hockey, men's and women's golf, men's and women's gymnastics, men's and women's ice hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's rifle, men's and women's skiing, men's and women's swimming & diving, men's and women's tennis, men's volleyball, men's and women's water polo, and men's wrestling.

McEachern and Adam represent District 3, which includes NAIA colleges from Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Noth Dakota, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin. They now advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America At-Large ballot, where first- and second-team All-America honorees will be selected.

McEachern, from Sandwich, Ill., helped the SAU women's tennis team to a third-place finish and a spot in the CCAC Tournament semifinals this season. Primarily playing No. 4 singles, she finished with a 9-6 record. She also won nine doubles matches this year. A History and Political Science major, McEachern earned the University's highest student-athlete GPA award with her 4.00 GPA.
