The Eloy-less White Sox look to continue their winning ways...

Time: 1:10 p.m. CST

The Chicago White Sox announced earlier this morning that they have recalled outfielder Ryan Cordell from Class AAA Charlotte. Nope, not Eloy Jimenez. Ryan Cordell.

Okay, but let’s not be too hard on Cordell. He had a nice spring and hit the daylights out of the ball, slashing .317/.417/.512. In mid-April, Cordell broke his clavicle diving for a ball in center field, which sidelined him for eight weeks. He’s a toolsy player with some upside, so don’t overlook him amid the recent Eloy news.

As for today, Reynaldo Lopez looks to build off one of his strongest starts of the season. Lopez went seven innings against a solid New York Yankees lineup, giving up just one run on five hits and two walks. He did strike out six, good for a 71 game score.

Lopez will be opposed by Michael Fulmer, who was roughed up in his last start against the Kansas City Royals. He gave up seven runs on eight hits in 3 23 innings. Today will be Fulmer’s third start since returning from the disabled list.

Welington Castillo also gets the nod behind the plate, his first start since his 80-game suspension.
