[Swimming & Diving] SAU swimmers and divers prepare for NAIA National Championships

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The 62nd Annual Men's and 38th Annual Women's Swimming & Diving National Championships begin competition Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the Columbus Aquatic Center in Columbus, Ga. This is the third straight season the National Championship has been held in Columbus, Ga.

Slated for an 10 a.m. CST start on Wednesday, the 800-yard freestyle relay in a timed field will kick off the event. The National Championship continues throughout the week, with the preliminaries beginning at 8 a.m. CST and finals starting at 4 p.m. CST each evening.

Twenty-three men's programs and Twenty-nine women's programs will compete in the open field this year with a chance to make their mark in NAIA Swimming & Diving history. Last season saw the Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) men claim their second straight red banner and the ONU women claim their first.

Keiser (Fla.) enters the championships as the No. 1-ranked men's program and SCAD Savannah (Ga.) enters as the No. 1-ranked program on the women's side.

St. Ambrose is well represented, sending nine men and nine women to nationals in just their first season as a competitive program.
