Job Title: Engagement Coordinator
Reports to: Communications Manager
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Full-time (32 hours per week)
Salary: $55,000

Do you love talking to people about bike stuff? Especially on the internet? WABA is looking for an Engagement Coordinator to help us thrive in a rapidly changing social media landscape and to maintain warm and enthusiastic digital spaces for people who want to talk about biking in the DC region.

About the Team:

The Development and Communications team at WABA helps our program teams tell the right stories to people who need to hear them. That means:

  • Ensuring that actionable, relevant content gets to members, supporters, the press, and the public.
  • Maintaining a consistent, appealing brand across all WABA platforms—digital, print, and in-person.
  • Providing timely, friendly, and accessible support to members and supporters.

Job Responsibilities:

Content Creation

In this role, you’ll use WABA’s programming and longform written work to create relevant and exciting social content that puts WABA in front of new audiences, drives conversions—advocacy actions, event signups, and donations—and builds goodwill and brand equity. That content will include catchy text, engaging visuals, and some video. WABA does a lot of different kinds of work, from policy deep dives to goofy bike rides to teaching kids to ride safely. Your job is to help our program staff identify the compelling stories at the heart of their work and share them in engaging ways.

  • Support the Communications Manager in using our tools to publish and send content—emails, blog posts, action alerts, events registrations, etc.
  • Support the Development Manager at in-person events and with gift entry and acknowledgments.

  • Some basic photography and videography.
  • Some basic web design.

Tools We Use

These are the main software tools we use to do our work. You don’t need to know them to apply, but do let us know if you have experience with any of them:
