East Cypress Climb Trail Opening
17 years of planning, collaboration, and trail building, West Vancouver’s first designated uphill mountain biking route is officially open! The East Cypress Climb Trail is West Vancouver’s first designated uphill mountain biking route, also open for two-way hiking. Creating valuable pedal access to NSMBA-maintained Cypress East trails.
This new route ensures:
- Separating uphill/downhill traffic for a better ride experience
- Multi-use trail is open for both mountain bike climbing and two-way hiking
- A “Good hard climb” that matches Cypress’s legendary descents
- Built through incredible collaboration between Squamish Nation, District of West Vancouver, British Properties & the NSMBA
Massive thanks to our volunteer Cypress builders (Mark, Ian, Kevin, Jason, Jared, Wyatt) and NSMBA trail crew (Henry, Rouben, Schuyler, Digger and Marcus), plus Jeremy Power from Rare Earth who led the build.Noted as “just the beginning”, planning for the Cypress Village trail network starts next!
Thanks also to Alan Bardsley, long-term trail advocate and friend of the NSMBA, along with Squamish Nation, District of West Vancouver and British Pacific Properties.
