We’re delighted to feature Fox! A Tucson-based metalsmith, their work blends precision, artistry, and raw beauty — from delicate cutout silhouettes to bold stone settings. Each piece feels alive, crafted with beauty and magic!

Where are you from?

Lisbon, Maine. Home of Moxie Soda

What got you started making art?

I don’t remember. I was always making art. Always.

What’s your artistic background? (experience, education, etc.)

I’ve been lucky to take classes at Maine College of Art, Massachusetts College of Art, North Seattle Community College, and Haystack School of Craft. I’ve worked in ceramics, weaving & dying, watercolor, woodwork, metalsmithing, drawing, and foundry.

Who or what are your biggest artists’ influences?

Community! I’m lucky to be in a group of smithies and artists in other mediums that cheer each other on and support each other in art-making, business efforts, and life in general. Bones, kittehs, gemstones, geology, rockhounding. Metalsmith Julia Loether, and her guidance that only a shoebox worth of tools is needed to metalsmith (which lead to my 6ish years or wandering around and smithing on the go.) Metalsmith, Danielle Cadef and her rough/delicate/gestural work.

Where do you get your inspiration for your art?

I’ll see something shiny (work from other artists, nature, rummaging in my supplies) and something jumps out and screams and demands to have attention paid to it.

What brought you to BICAS?

I’m new to Tucson and kept hearing about it from friends.

How has BICAS affected you?

It has connected me with other queer artists and helped me find community here in Tucson.

Check out their Instagram and website for more of their work!
