Equestrian Guides – Helping You Plan the Perfect Ride
We’ve got some great news for horse riders and Trail users! This year, we’re focusing on updating and improving our equestrian guides to make sure they’re as useful, detailed, and accessible as possible. Whether you’re a seasoned rider or just looking for a new route to explore, we want to make sure the TPT works for you.
If you haven’t checked them out yet, our equestrian guides are packed with useful information, from route details to key access points and even parking for horseboxes. They’re written by riders, for riders, making them a fantastic resource for planning your next trip. And the best part? Since these routes follow bridleways, they’re not just for horse riders – they’re open for everyone to enjoy!
We’re always on the lookout for great new routes to add to our guides, and this year, we’re focusing on both linear and circular routes. So, whether you prefer a straightforward ride from A to B or love the idea of a loop that brings you right back to where you started, we’ve got you covered.
Get Involved!
To make these guides even better, we’re keen to work with the British Horse Society, local partners, volunteers, and riders like you! If you know of a fantastic route that should be included, or you’ve spotted a gap in our current network, we’d love to hear from you. Your input can help us fill in missing links and refresh our content so more riders can enjoy safe, well-planned routes.
One area we’re especially looking at is Merseyside, where we know there’s a lack of good equestrian routes. We’re working closely with local and regional contacts to improve this, but if you ride in the area and have ideas, we’d really appreciate your insight. If you want to be part of the conversation, please get in touch!
Let’s Make the TPT Even Better for Riders!
At the end of the day, the Trans Pennine Trail is for everyone – and with your help, we can make it an even better place for horse riders. If you’d like to contribute new routes, update existing guides, or get involved with our work in Merseyside, we’d love to hear from you.
