Final MB Summer Games Qualifier Race CANCELLED: What does that mean for athlete selection?
Unfortunately the 5th and final MB Summer Games qualifier race (Falcon Cup) has been CANCELLED due to excessive rain forecasted for days leading up to the race on Saturday. We received notification from the race organizer this morning.
WHAT DOES THESE MEAN FOR ATHLETE SELECTION:
With this cancellation, the cumulative points will be adjusted to the best 3 out of 4 qualifier race results and those who raced in all 4 qualifier races earning a bonus 50 points.
Due to the cancellation, cumulative points will now be based on the best 3 out of 4 qualifier race results. Additionally, participants who raced in all 4 qualifiers will receive a bonus 50 points.
The coaches and the MB Summer Games – Cycling Technical Coordinator will select eligible athletes (birth years 2010-2013) from this pool based on their qualifier race results and the following criteria:
- Completed the intent to compete form –
- the original deadline was Saturday, June 29th, 6 pm. Due to the cancellation of the 5th qualifier, the new deadline is moved up to Friday, June 28th, 6 pm.

- Possess a 2024 Manitoba Cycling Association membership/license.
Athletes selected for a regional team will be notified on Saturday, June 29th by telephone (phone number listed on the intent to compete form) and will be posted on the MCA website under MB Summer Games section by Tuesday, July 2nd.
