DC Youth Bike Bus Ride ($50 Stipend for Youth Participants!)

Are you between the ages of 12-18? Do you like biking in Washington, DC? Do you want to learn more about group biking (a “bike bus”) on DC’s street and trails?

Join WABA for an exciting, PAID 7.5-mile group bike (“bike bus”) ride along the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail and protected bike lanes nearby! A League Cycling Instructor, bike marshals, and DC officials will “bike” us through bike bus safety measures. There will be a $50 STIPEND for all youth participants, provided by US DOT/NHTSA and DC HSO/DMOI.

You do not need to consider yourself a “cyclist” to participate, but participants should be able to ride a bike for 30 minutes at a time. The total ride length is about 10 miles. (If you do not know how to ride a bike and want to learn, you can learn how to ride at one of WABA’s learn-how-to-ride events. Sign up here: https://waba.org/fun/.) If you need us to supply a bike for you, please make sure you indicate that on your registration by May 15 at the latest.

If you have any questions or missed the May 15 deadline, please email Michelle Shin at michelle.shin@waba.org.
