To encourage cycling, Mysuru City Corporation will develop 8.5km-long synthetic track

The mysuru city corporation is inducting more bicycles to the trin trin’s public bicycle sharing system in order to promote nonmotorized transport among the residents of the city. Thirty of the 17445 residents of the city are registered with the pbs system and are able to rent cycles from the 53 docking stations across the city. Though response to the ecofriendly initiative was overwhelming, the number of regular users of the trin trin cycles began dropping not long after the initiative’s launch in June 2017. Primarily because the roads were not conducive to cycling, the number of users began to dwindle. However, the mcc is keen on building dedicated cycling tracks across the city and to further promote cycling among residents. In addition, the civic agency is eager to transition from the beamstyle docking system to one where there will no need to dock the cycles. An internet of things-based integrated lock system is one of the more advanced mechanisms that the mcc is keen on implementing with trin trinupgrading the entire system coupled with increasing facilities for cycling is expected to drive up patronage.
