Come sign up for the 2019 FSA DS draft leagues!

The time of the year is soon upon us once again when like six-year-olds on Christmas Day we all giddily unwrap "presents" brought from Ol’ Saint Ursula only to have those "presents" decay and turn to rot within months of their receipt. As Ol’ Saint Ursula makes his final preparations and readies his sled to bring joy… and then misery… to all of us kids on February 1st, I figured it would be a good time to post about the vds draft leagues for 2019.

If you’ve played before, you know what this is all about (Betancur jokes and bad puns). If you haven’t joined before and you want to, you can look here to see how this all works.

I think the setup last year worked well for the men’s league. We’ll have two draft groups set up generally by time zone locations in which we will have a fast paced draft-- i.e. everyone will have to be available at that certain time to participate otherwise riders will be automatically drafted on their team. We’ll have another draft group that will play out over a longer period of time for players that can’t be available at the date and time of the other drafts.

I’m tentatively proposing the following dates and times for the first two drafts:

• Group A - (Canada, Trumpistanians, Antipodeans, etc.) 9:00 p.m. EST (6:00 p.m. PST) on Thursday, February 7th.

• Group B - (Euros, brexiters, etc.) 8:00 p.m. GMT (9:00 p.m. CET, 3:00 p.m. EST) on Friday, February 8th.

• Group C - (anyone that doesn’t have 3 hours to be online on the above dates) - tbd.

Besides the men’s league, we’ll also have a women’s league set up ahead of time this year for a draft.

Provided there is interest, we’ll also have a young rider draft league. As the magic day of February 1st approaches, I’ll put up another post.
