Mercia CC-Lloyds Cycles report 18.10.18 Mercia CC-Lloyds Cycles held its annual hill climb & free wheel event on a very bright cold Sunday morning. The winner of the climb section was Dan Partington with a time of 1 minute 12 seconds followed by Under 14 rider Zak Machin in 1:28. Other riders times were Owen Heath 1:31, Keith Staley 1:33, Chris Wells 1:36, Jeff Slinn 1:46 & John Brewin 2:07. The Free wheel section was won by Keith Staley followed by Chris Wells, Zak Machin, Jeff Slinn, Dan Partington Owen Heath & John Brewin.   Local riders heading for Round 4 of the Forme – Nott’s Derby Cyclo-Cross League at Bingham might have expected a sticky course following a week of persistent rain locally. This was not to be the case however, as the country East of Nottingham had had had very little rain in the week leading up to the race. The course was very dry, coupled with unseasonal hot sunshine and a very strong wind the races proved to be very fast events.
