Hi, I'm trying to set up a vintage road bike I own with some 5 speed indexed bar end shifters. Is there a possibility of using a cassette(say with less cogs?) with the 5 speed indexing? I need to replace the back wheel on the bike and i've had some difficulty finding freewheel wheelsets. I'd like to have slightly better than the cheapest kind of wheel I can get but I also don't want to spend $300 on a wheelset if I can avoid it.
