Help identify an old bell

I got this for a white elephant gift for Christmas, I tried poking around a bit but couldn't identify the manufacturer. It has "England" stamped on the back mechanism. Would like to know who made it and what it came on so I can share it with the gifter who was curious as well. Thanks!
