Bicycling equipment and apparel that just didn't workout

Do you have items you obtained that are manufactured specifically to perform some function for cycling but just did not work out? Or, have you found an item that isn't intended for use on the bike but suits your cycling needs perfectly?

For example, I have a pair of Pearl iZUMi shoe covers I got...
