The final day of the 2026 CCAA Canadian Curling Championships delivered a spectacular conclusion to the tournament in Regina. After a week of intense competition, the afternoon medal round featured the top-ranked teams battling for national glory, resulting in a perfect undefeated run on the men’s side and a dramatic extra-end victory in the women’s final.

Men’s Semi-Final Recap

Humber Hawks vs. Sault College The undefeated Humber Hawks secured their spot in the gold medal match with an 8–5 victory over Sault College. Humber took an early lead with two points in the opening end, but Sault College proved resilient, battling back to tie the game 5–5 by the seventh end. The Hawks demonstrated their championship poise in the final end, utilizing the hammer to score three decisive points and secure the win.

NAIT Ooks vs. Gaillards du Cégep de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue

The NAIT Ooks overcame an early deficit to defeat the Gaillards 6–4 in a tactical battle. The Gaillards held a 3–1 lead after three ends, but the Ooks remained patient, eventually breaking the game open with a massive three-point score in the sixth end. NAIT added a single point in the seventh to extend their lead and held the Gaillards scoreless in the final end to punch their ticket to the finals.


Women’s Semi-Final Recap

Red Deer Polytechnic Queens vs. Concordia Thunder

In a defensive thriller that came down to the final stone, the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens edged out the Concordia Thunder 6–5. After Red Deer took a 3–0 lead in the second end, Concordia fought back to within one point twice during the match. The Queens remained composed under pressure, scoring a single point in the eighth end to hold off the Thunder’s comeback attempt and advance to the gold medal game.

SAIT Trojans vs. PACWEST

The SAIT Trojans delivered a commanding performance, defeating PACWEST 7–2 to secure their place in the championship final. SAIT controlled the momentum from the first end, scoring in five of the seven ends played while keeping PacWest to single points in the second and fourth. The Trojans’ defensive consistency and efficient scoring eventually led to a decisive five-point victory.

Men’s Gold Medal Match: Humber Hawks vs. NAIT Ooks

The Humber Hawks cemented their status as national champions with a convincing 7–2 victory over the NAIT Ooks. Humber controlled the match from the outset, scoring in the first two ends and putting the game out of reach with two-point scores in both the fourth and sixth ends. The Ooks struggled to generate offense against the Hawks’ precision, managing only single points in the third and fifth ends before the match concluded after seven ends.

Men’s Bronze Medal Match: Gaillards vs. Sault College

In a hard-fought battle for the podium, the Gaillards du Cégep de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue secured the bronze medal with a 6–4 win over Sault College. The match was a back-and-forth affair until the later stages, when the Gaillards took advantage of the eighth end to score two points and break the deadlock. Despite a steady performance from Sault College, who scored single points in four different ends, they were unable to match the multi-point surges from the Gaillards.


Women’s Final Recap

Women’s Gold Medal Match: Red Deer Polytechnic Queens vs. SAIT Trojans

The women’s final was the highlight of the day, as the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens edged out the SAIT Trojans 6–5 in a dramatic nine-end thriller. The teams were evenly matched throughout regulation play, entering the final end tied at 5–5 after SAIT scored a single point in the eighth. In the pressure-packed 9th end, the Queens successfully navigated the house to score the winning point and secure the national championship.

Women’s Bronze Medal Match: PacWest vs. Concordia Thunder

PACWEST claimed the bronze medal in another tightly contested matchup, defeating the Concordia Thunder 5–4. The game remained competitive until the very last stone, with PacWest holding a narrow lead for much of the afternoon. Concordia managed to tie the game in the seventh end, but PacWest utilized the hammer in the eighth to score a single point and secure their spot on the national podium.
