What better way to kick off Mississauga’s first-ever Patch than with one of the country’s most successful rock bands?
The Trews will take over opening night on Jan. 23 at the 2026 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, performing at The Patch in Rink 2 at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre.
“Huge thanks to Curling Canada and the Scotties Tournament of Hearts for inviting us,” said the band’s lead vocalist and guitarist Colin MacDonald. “We’re honoured to add some music to such a special week.”
The concert, presented by Montana’s BBQ & Bar and Access Storage, is set to get underway at around 10:30 p.m. (all times ET), following the conclusion of the 7 p.m. opening night draw.
The Patch’s doors will open at 5 p.m. on Friday night and close at 1 a.m. Admission is free, no ticket is required, and fans must be 19 years of age or older. Capacity limits apply, so those wanting to get close to the stage should arrive early.
Originally from the East Coast and now residing in Hamilton, Ont., The Trews celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2023 and has opened the stage for the likes of The Rolling Stones, KISS, Robert Plant, Guns n’ Roses, Aerosmith, Weezer, Mumford & Sons, Bruce Springsteen, and Switchfoot.
The Trews, with Colin MacDonald on vocals and guitar, John-Angus MacDonald on lead guitar, Jack Syperek on bass, Theodore Mckibbon on drums, and Jeff Heisholt on keyboards, have been one of Canada’s most successful rock bands of the past decade, earning 20 Top 10 rock radio singles, including three number ones, and multiple Gold and Platinum certified albums.
Chart-topping hits Not Ready to Go, Highway of Heroes, Tired of Waiting, and Hold Me In Your Arms are just a few of the band’s hits, and most recently, their single, The Breakdown, released in March 2025, reached number one on Canada Rock Radio. Fans can likely expect tracks from the band’s 2025 album, The Bloody Light, to take centre stage.
It is not the first time The Trews have rocked a major sporting event. The band has performed at the CFL East Final and during Grey Cup festivities.
Now performing alongside the biggest national championship event in women’s curling, The Trews are set to kick off 10 days of live music and entertainment in The Patch. The full lineup is available here.
