Three men’s teams are now tied atop the standings at the 2025 Montana’s Canadian Curling Trials, presented by Connect Hearing.
After Tuesday afternoon’s draw at Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, Team Matt Dunstone (Winnipeg), Team Brad Gushue (St. John’s, N.L.), and Team Brad Jacobs (Calgary) are now tied at 4-1, continuing their dominance as the field’s top teams all week.
The top three teams advance to the playoffs, starting this Thursday at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax.
Previously undefeated, Team Dunstone lost 5-4 to Team Kevin Koe (3-2, Calgary), allowing Teams Gushue and Jacobs to catch up in the standings.
Down by one in the 10th, Team Koe scored two with a triple to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Team Jacobs moved up with a 6-4 victory over Team John Epping (1-4, Winnipeg), securing another point in the 10th end after previously losing to Team Koe.
Team Gushue edged Team Jordon McDonald (0-5; Winnipeg) 8-6 in an extra end, after the young team pushed the veterans to the limit while seeking its first win.
Team Mike McEwen (3-2) stayed in playoff contention with a crucial 9-7 win over Team Rylan Kleiter (1-4) in an all-Saskatoon game, driven by a five-point steal in the third end.
