U20 Mixed Doubles Provincials
On March 13-16, 2025, 16 U20 Mixed Doubles teams hit the ice at the Watrous Curling Club in hopes of earning a spot at the U21 National Mixed Doubles West Qualifier in Richmond, BC on November 26-30 2025.

The event was a triple knockout format with 8 teams making playoffs. Two from the A-event, 2 from the B-event and 4 from the C event.
In the A event, Team Loudon/Lussier defeated Team Simpson/Derksen 5-4, and Team Wood/Snow defeated Team Remeshylo/Derksen 8-3. In the B-event Team Silversides/Tesier defeated Team Simpson/Derksen 9-6, and Team Remeshylo/Derksen defeated Team Semeniuk/Weiss 8-5. The C event qualifiers was Team Fradette/Weiss, Speidel/Robinson, Lowe/Denis, and Semeniuk/Weiss.
On Saturday at noon before the last couple of qualifying games, the Watrous Curling Club hosted a luncheon for all the players. Guest speaker Mike Armstrong spoke to the curlers about how to balance Curling, Life and the Unexpected. Thank you to Mike for a wonderful presentation and to the Watrous Curling club hosts, icemakers and vounteers for running such a fantastic event!
In the playoff round, Team Loudon/Lussier defeated Team Simpson/Derksen 9-5, Team Fradette/Weiss fell to Team Remeshylo/Derksen 11-4, Semeniuk/Weiss won 8-5 over Team Silversides/Tessier, and Team Wood/Snow defeated Team Speidel/Robinson 6-4. The semi-finals saw Remeshylo Derksen defeat Team Ludon/Lussier 8-6, and Team Semeniuk/Weiss defeated Team Wood/Snow 12-2. The final was a close battle with Team Remeshylo taking the 6-2 lead after 3 ends, heading into the 8th end, Team Remeshylo Derksen were up 8-5, but a great 8th end played by Chloe Semeniuk and partner Brandon Weiss resulted them scoring 4 and securing the title of 2025 Saskatchewan U20 Mixed Doubles Champions.
Congratulations to Chloe Semeniuk, Brandon Weiss, and coach Mark Weiss from the Esterhazy Curling Club and Twin Rivers Curling Club in North Battleford.
They have earned a reserved spot in the U21 National Mixed Doubles Qualifier, set to be held from November 26-30, 2025, at Richmond Curling Club in Richmond, BC.
