Team SK Blog #6 ~ Canadian Junior Curling Championships

For our final game in the championship round, we played Nova Scotia.  We had a good game.  Both teams made great shots and both had some misses.  The NS skip made a nice run back with her first and hit for three with her second, picking up three in the ninth end.  Down one, coming home with hammer but we  just couldn`t quite pull it off… missed our chance for the tiebreaker.

We now had the afternoon off and we decided to do something fun!  The men`s team had the afternoon off as well, so Team Saskatchewan went out for a serious game of Laser Tag!

Tonight was the Victory Banquet and Awards Night at the beautiful Langley Events Center.  We were seated with Team Manitoba Men for dinner, it was nice to get to know them better.  The evening consisted of a fabulous meal, event pictures of the athletes, a video of the top shots caught on the streamed sheet (way to go Rachel and Rylan!), awards for sportsmanship, fair play (nice job, Rylan!) and top performance for positions (Top Skipper, Rylan… congrats!).  The evening ended with curler/comedian, John Cullen, who told it how it is… hilarious!  It was a fun night to get to know some of other players in a non-competitive atmosphere.

Tomorrow, mixed doubles and cheering on the men’s team in the semi-final!
