0 106

We said it back on September 5 and he proves it with every game – Parham Maghsoodloo continues in the sole lead at the FIDE Grand Swiss 2025, playing amazing chess in every game. This time Maghsoodloo had no mercy with the black pieces vs Richard Rapport and is now at 4,5/5.

Round 5 was amazing all around, with multiple brilliancies happening on the boards. The Frenchmen Alireza Firouzja and MarcAndria Maurizzi were both victorious, Arjun Erigaisi had an important win, and Matthias Bluebaum stunned world number 4 Pragg.

Any of these would have been a major headline, but Abhimanyu Mishra stole the show – Mishra defeated none other than the World Champion Gukesh!
