Lu Miaoyi (Chinese: 鹿妙夷; born February 2010) is a Chinese chess prodigy and International Master (IM) with a peak FIDE rating of 2449. She is the world’s No. 2 junior female player, trailing only Divya Deshmukh, and holds the title of Chinese women’s national champion. At the age of 15, Lu is the fourth-youngest female in chess history to achieve the International Master title.
Currently Lu Miaoyi is playing in the Dortmund Sparkassen Women Trophy 2025 and after 4 rounds is with a perfect 4,0/4. She defeated Deimantė Daulytė-Cornette, Elisabeth Pähtz, Dinara Wagner and again Deimantė Daulytė-Cornette. With two rounds remaining, she has already added 13,5 elo points.

Born into a chess-loving family, Lu’s mother, Xu Yuanyuan, is a Woman Grandmaster (WGM), and her grandfather, Xu Tao, is an amateur player who won the Beijing Junior Chess Championship in his youth. Lu was introduced to chess at age three through her mother’s chess club. She competed in her first FIDE-rated tournament at five and began formal training with her mother at seven.
