Panhellenic School Chess Championship

The Panhellenic School Chess Championship in Thessaloniki will take place May 3-4. The venue of the event is the International Trade Fair of Thessaloniki where two Chess Olympiads have taken place. 1500 students will participate in the final round of the Greek School Chess Championships 2025. Together with their parents, teachers, organising staff and visitors, more than 4000 people are expected at the venue. The Greek Chess Federation and the Chess Union of Thessaloniki-Halkdiki have prepared a variety of parallel events and exhibitions for all participants, including a chess exhibition by SenseRobot official partner of European Chess Union.

It is yet one more step for Thessaloniki of becoming a European center of youth chess. Just recently, the ECU board approved PAOK Sports Club (one of the biggest sports clubs in Greece but also in Europe) to host the European Fischer Random Chess Championship 2026 in the beautiful city of Thessaloniki, Greece!

This prestigious event will take place at the iconic PAOK SPORTS ARENA in the second half of June 2026, coinciding with the 100th anniversary celebration of PAOK Sports Club
