Le Quang Liem reaches highest ever ELO before the Chess Olympiad 2024
Le Quang Liem will be on board 1 for Vietnam at the Chess Olympiad 2024. He will arrive in Budapest with the highest ELO in his career – 2741! Despite a clear deflation in the 2700 club, Le Quang Liem successfully achieved his personal best this month of August.

Le Quang Liem, who now lives in St. Louis, Missouri and is the head coach for the Webster University Chess Team, is one of the hidden favorites for a board medal in the Chess Olympiad 2024. His team is seeded 20th and his teammates are Ngoc Truong Son Nguyen, Tuan Minh Le, Tuan Minh Tran, and Gia Huy Banh.

The women team of Vietnam has always been a difficult opponent at team events. At the Chess Olympiad 2024 the team is 19th seeded will consist of Le Thao Nguyen Pham, Thi Kim Phung Vo, Phuong Hanh Luong, Ngoc Thuy Duong Bach, and Thanh Tu Le.
