CASTLEHILL OTB QUICK-PLAY ROUND 2 – REPORT
Thurs 13th June 24 – 7:30pm
We had 14 players down battling it out for supremacy on the night! This included some big hitters like Andre Babin, Jan Klingelhoefer, Vladyslav Drabych & Robert Jackson, plus some good juniors including Joshua Smikle!
We played an 8 round Swiss, with the time-control, 3 minutes + 2 seconds increments (Madness!).
In the end it was a one-mam show, with Jan running away with it to finish in 1st place on 7½/8! Well played Jan
Vladyslav & Andre tied for 2nd place on 6 points, with young Joshua in 4th place on 5½ points (impressive), and Colin Young on 5 points in 5th place.
Congratulations to Jan and this win puts him into 2nd place in the overall table, with Vladyslav still top!
Special mention to our juniors who had some impressive results on the night. Noah Dickson and Haoqi Liu were very fluent in Spanish chess, both winning against Ana Belen Other Seijas. Who would have known! Joshua Smilke was our top junior as usual and is looking like a real prospect!
