The George Pyrich OTB Allegro Championship Series 23-24: Round one – Vladyslav!
The George Pyrich OTB Allegro Championship Series 23-24
The 1st George Pyrich OTB Allegro Championship Series fittingly took place at Kirkcaldy Chess Club, on Thursday 9th November 23, 7:30pm.
Format: 5 round Swiss, 15 minutes each player
George Pyrich was a member of Glenrothes & Kirkcaldy Chess Club and was the president of TACA and the organiser of the Glenrothes Chess Congress! This competition is in memory of this chess stalwart and legend!
It was a good turnout for the first event and the fact it was held at Kirkcaldy CC, which is the furthest away venue in the league, I think 23 players was amazing! Also, Kirkcaldy have a new venue, the Path Tavern, which turned out to be a good venue for chess and absolute perfect hosts, but 26 players might have been its maximum, so 23 players, just right on the night!
CLUBS (Players)
Kirkcaldy (Hosts) 9
Perth 5
Castlehill 4
St Andrews 3
Dundee 2

Congratulations to Martin Gourlay (Perth) on winning the Kirkcaldy leg and becoming the TAFCA George Pyrich Allegro Kirkcaldy Champion 23-24!
